Joyce Tinnion was born in Vancouver, B.C. and grew up there. She attended the University of British Columbia and received a Bachelor of Arts with a major in both Theatre and English. She returned later to receive a permanent Teaching Certificate.
Involved in theatre all her life, Joyce worked with some of Canada’s best directors, producers and writers. She spent seven years employed at C.B.C. Vancouver, in both Radio and Television production. Joyce also worked on several productions in the C.B.C. Casting dept.
Luckily, she was able to spend time on live stage productions as well. She explored many jobs with professional companies at Vancouver theatres, such as the Vancouver Playhouse and the Vancouver East Cultural Centre. One of the most challenging and rewarding experiences was working as the Assistant Director for two major Playhouse shows.
Joyce was on the founding Board of Directors for Vancouver Women in Film and Video.
She has taught Theatre and English in High School for more than twenty years. She has a current B.C. Teaching Certificate.
Joyce is now enjoying this new business on Vancouver Island — of making people laugh and feel good.
