The power of these Theatre Workshops is in the interaction of the people who attend.
Drawing from a hundred different games and exercises, Joyce adjusts the material to suit the interest and strengths (and enjoyment) of the group.
No experience is required.
Improvisational Theatresports introduces more complex games that suit a more experienced group. The popular t.v. show “Whose Line Is It Anyway?” uses Theatresports ideas. Many of these ideas are fun to play with. As an experienced Drama teacher, Joyce is sensitive to the needs of the group, and is able to adjust and substitute material.
The kind of play and laughter that comes from releasing everyday cares (and just relaxing into the moment) brings feelings of happiness and well-being. People often feel more self-confidence and less shyness. Creativity, also, can grow when you let go of routine worries and allow yourself to be in the moment of playfulness.
Laughing, smiling, playing are not luxuries; they are essentials.
